The Manager:

  • Identifies and resolves standard day-to-day technical and operational problems¬ 

  • Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.¬ 

  • Explains difficult issues and works to build alignment around a complex situation.¬ 

  • Makes decisions within guidelines and policies which impact a range of standard and non-standard customer, operational, project or support activities.

As a member of the Supply Chain Management department, the Business Systems Support Lead is accountable for the design, implementation, sustainment and performance of standard business processes. The Business Systems Support Lead manages a group that performs transactions in support of site business processes and administrative/clerical tasks for site personnel and partners with diverse business areas to provide the following services: SAP Quality Notification management, LMS administration, SAP purchasing, and other business system transactions; schedule and coordinates interviews for positions across the site; orders supplies for areas across the site, assists with calendar scheduling/planning, and coordinates special projects, meetings, and events.

The Business Systems Support Lead interacts with quality, production and maintenance personnel across the plant site and with other sites and global support groups. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates data and information to determine accuracy and find potential errors in systems

  • Solves problems related to business system transactions

  • Drives business process improvements and makes process-based decisions

  • Monitors standard work and implements improvements to eliminate waste, streamline, provide solutions and prevent problems, and improve effectiveness with regard to business systems.

  • Gather, analyze and report process performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement. Identify and overcome obstacles.

  • Support logistics for internal and external audits.

  • Perform other activities and projects as directed.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required: Bachelors degree in science, engineering, business, or related field

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing¬ or¬ Supply Chain Management, or related business operations

  • Experience using Problem Solving skills to resolve complex issues

  • Experience balancing workload, prioritizing multiple high priority activities, managing complexity and ambiguity, and delivering results

  • Advanced computer skills using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) and operation of other peripheral devices

  • Professional oral and written communication skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Management experience

  • Understanding of Merck's Quality System

  • Project Management experience

  • A minimum of one (1) year utilizing an ERP, such as SAP, as part of core work responsibility¬ 

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including flexibility, collaboration and inclusion skills, and ability to work in a team environment

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
